Short version. This website sets no advertising cookies, runs no analytics, and shares nothing with anyone. The only personal information it holds is what you type into a form, and it is used to answer you.

What is collected

When you submit a form, the site records the name, e-mail address, telephone number and description of the matter that you enter, together with the date and time, the IP address the submission came from, and your browser's user-agent string. The last two are recorded to limit abuse of the forms, not to identify you.

The foreign and NRI enquiry form additionally accepts a document if you choose to attach one. Please do not attach originals or privileged material.

Why it is collected

To reply to your enquiry, to fix an appointment, and to carry out the conflict check that has to precede acceptance of any matter. It is not used for any other purpose.

Who sees it

Form submissions are delivered by e-mail to the chamber and stored in a log file on the web server. Nothing is sold, shared, or passed to any marketing service, and there are no third-party trackers on any page of this site.

Two third parties are contacted by your browser, not by the chamber: Google, when a page showing the map loads and when the site's fonts are fetched; and YouTube, but only if you press play on a video. Nothing is requested from YouTube before that.

How long it is kept

Enquiry records are kept while the matter is live and for such period afterwards as professional obligations require. An enquiry that does not become a matter is deleted on request, and in any event is not retained beyond what is useful to answer it.

Confidentiality

Communications made to an advocate for the purpose of professional advice are protected under section 126 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 and its successor provision. That protection applies whether or not the chamber is ultimately engaged. It is, however, separate from the security of the transmission itself — ordinary e-mail is not a secure channel, and genuinely sensitive material is better brought to the chamber.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Form submissions are protected against cross-site request forgery and rate-limited by origin. No payment or banking information is collected, processed or stored by this website at any point; where a fee is paid by UPI, the payment takes place entirely within your own bank or UPI application.

Your rights

You may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to bhardwajandassociatesdelhi@gmail.com and it will be done.

Cookies

One cookie is set, and only if you submit a form: a session cookie that carries the security token protecting that submission. It expires when you close your browser. Your acceptance of the Bar Council notice is remembered in your browser's own session storage, which never leaves your device.
