What the chamber accepts
Civil litigation covers disputes over property, money and contractual obligation. In Delhi these are filed before the District Courts according to the district in which the property lies or the defendant resides, with pecuniary jurisdiction above the prescribed limit lying with the Delhi High Court on its original side.
The chamber accepts suits for possession, partition and declaration of title, recovery of money, specific performance of agreements to sell, permanent and mandatory injunctions, and landlord–tenant and eviction proceedings under the Delhi Rent Control Act. Execution proceedings, which are frequently where a decree is won or lost in practice, are conducted as part of the same engagement.
Consumer complaints and proceedings under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act are also accepted where the dispute concerns immovable property or a builder–buyer agreement.
